What ages are the lessons designed for?

Anyone of any age can learn piano effectively through this program. However, we’ve seen that most young children need to be around 6 years old for the program to be most effective

What happens after I complete the whole course?

First of all we would say congratulations! That is a great accomplishment. After someone finishes the beginner course we’ve found the student is usually looking to get better in a few specific areas. Maybe you want to learn only modern songs, maybe you want to learn how to play between the chords, or learn new keys, or transposition. We can help you through all of your needs. The best thing would be to set a time for an assessment with me, and we can figure out your next steps together.

What if I have taken lessons before, do I need to start at week 1?

This program is designed for beginners. Weeks 1-6, may be a review for someone who has piano experience, but if you have never learned the nashville number system or learned to play with chords, there are some foundational teachings that you will want to be sure to watch.

It is our recommendation for you to begin at lesson 1 and then move through the course at your own pace. Review is never a bad thing and you’ll be happy you started at week 1. From experience, we can tell you that we’ve seen many students with previous experience come into our program, and yet still lack information that should’ve been presented in the beginning weeks. The first few lessons may be easy for you, but this will lay the groundwork well for what will come in the following weeks.

Why do you sell two different versions of the same course?

We provide the “drip” course for our beginner students who would like to pace themselves through the lessons. Each week a new lesson is “dripped” to the student. This is also a lower cost way of starting lessons and you can cancel at anytime.

The full course is great because you get access to the full 52 lesson course + all 26 practice song tutorials at one time. This is for those who have had some piano experience and may want to skip ahead or skip through some of the beginner content. (It also saves you a little money!)

How will I know if I am progressing properly?

Assessment of our students can happen a few different ways.

First, please watch the first part of the following week’s video. At the beginning of each video, the student is shown exactly how to play the song they were assigned. Students who can play the song in that same manner, are ready for the next lesson.

Second, make sure you are reviewing the flash cards each week. The flash card information is crucial for the student to know and be familiar with on a week to week basis.

Third, use our “Ask the Coach” tool below each lesson video. Our coaches are here to help with any questions or problem that may arise during your student’s experience. Also you can email us videos of yourself playing and asking questions and we can send videos back showing you the proper method.

I am a parent purchasing for my child, what is my obligation to help my child in this course?

There is absolutely no obligation for parents to assist their children in this course. However, it’s our belief that, when parents are involved, students are more confident in what they’re learning and learn at a faster rate. Students LOVE to show their parents what they’re learning, and even more than that, 

LOVE when the parents think it’s a big deal. If parents have no idea what their student is doing/learning, they won’t know whether or not it’s cool or a big deal. Even if you know nothing about music, there will be items of which you’ll have a better understanding, and will be able to assist your child in understanding them effectively.

What is the “ask the coach” tool?

This feature is great for students and parents to receive quick feedback and assessment as they’re going through this program. Below each week's lesson, there is a comment section where you can dialogue with our coaches.

Do I need a computer at the piano?

One of the great aspects of this program, is that our students can watch from anywhere, on any device, as long as you have access to the internet. In our opinion, the best case scenario is for each student to have a computer, tablet or smartphone at the piano with them, allowing them to play along as the video plays. If that is not an option every week, the student can watch the video, and then go to the piano to practice what they were taught in the lesson, at another time.

Can multiple people in my family use the same subscription?

Yes. This is one of the great aspects of our program. Your subscription is per family. Therefore, any child in your family may sign up under your subscription. This is also the reason online piano is such a great value!

After I purchase the course how long can I access the content?

After you have purchased the complete course, you have lifetime access to the content.

If I am in the 12 month plan can I unlock the full course?

Yes, you can upgrade and unlock the full course at anytime.

Can I cancel my subscription?
